Rhone. Lyon remains on red alert for contamination

Pollution surveillance continues this Friday, February 26. As of 5 am this morning, only drivers with the Crit’Air 0.1 and 2 sticker can drive with total impunity. Lyon, Caluire and Villeurbanne are in the area affected by these restrictive measures. Vehicles rated Crit’Air 3, 4 and 5 must remain in the garage until further notice.

Air improvements in west Lyon

While particulate matter (PM10) concentrations should start to decline in Auvergne due to favorable climate change, poor air quality remains relevant in and around Lyon for much of the day. However, improvements can be reported in the west of Lyon. In the Monts d’Or and more specifically in the surroundings of Mont Thou, where the air is already more breathable, as well as in the municipalities of Vaugneray, Chevinay or Villefranche.

Raising the watch for tomorrow?

Saharan particles are expected to move more clearly away from the region on Saturday, leading to a clear improvement in air quality in and around Lyon. In this way, the monitoring of pollution could be lifted this Saturday at noon.
