The historic Affair of the Century hearing will take place this Thursday

The legal proceedings on dates

On December 17, 2018, the four organizations in the Case of the Century submitted a “preliminary request for compensation”, a mandatory procedure before any procedure before an administrative court.

On February 15, 2019, at the end of the two-month period assigned to it to respond, the State, through the Minister of Ecological and Inclusive Transition, rejected this request.

On March 14, 2019, the four organizations filed a “full litigation appeal” with the Paris administrative court.

On May 20, 2019 they present their “additional brief”, that is, more than 90 pages detailing the documents and arguments in their possession.

In June 2020, the National Federation of Organic Agriculture, the Abbé Pierre Foundation and France Nature Environnement each submitted a voluntary intervention, that is, additional arguments, in support of the appeal of the Case of the Century.

On June 23, 2020, almost sixteen months later, and at the end of the response period, the State finally responded to the Affair of the Century, presenting a 40-page “defense”.

On September 3, 2020, the organizations countersigned and attached to the file a hundred testimonies to the 60 pages of their “response brief.”

On October 8, the Anper-Tos association also presented a voluntary intervention in support of the Affair of the Century.

On October 9, 2020, the investigation was closed, without the State presenting new arguments.

On November 26, 2020, the parties were notified of the hearing date.

On January 14, 2021, the hearing will take place before the Administrative Court of Paris.
