A bad night for an Atlanta woman took a turn for the worst after she contacted police to report a car break-in.
The woman parked her vehicle outside Friends Sports Grill, located at 575 Dacula Road in Dacula, at approximately 9 p.m. on March 21. When she returned to her vehicle around 3 a.m. on March 22, she discovered the rear window had been smashed and several items had been taken.
Among the items listed as missing were the woman's purse, $20 in currency and a pair of earrings valued at $200.
The woman was unable to provide the investigating officer with her driver's license, so she gave him her name and date of birth. When the officer checked the information in the license database, the return indicated the woman was wanted by the Alpharetta Police Department.
After the warrant was confirmed, the officer placed Mikaila Casteel, 20, under arrest. A friend of Casteel's secured her vehicle. Jail records indicate Casteel was booked into the jail on two charges of failure to appear.
The car break-in case is listed as active.
