A wheelchair-bound man reportedly fired multiple shots at Gwinnett County Police officers during a June 6 SWAT incident in Buford.
Digiulio dropped behind a wall after being struck and placed a 911 call at 6:42 p.m. requesting help. Within 10 minutes, the SWAT team confirmed Digiulio was unarmed and a SWAT medic rendered first aid. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he will remain under guard until his release.
The officer who fired the shot that struck Digiulio, per departmental policy, will be placed on administrative leave. The incident will be investigated by the Deadly Force Investigation Team.
