A Lawrenceville teen bicyclist is dead after reportedly running a stop sign and riding into traffic.
A 24-year-old Lawrenceville woman was driving her 2011 Honda Accord northbound on Club Drive when she saw the collision. The impact caused Shaw to enter into the woman's lane of travel. The woman, according to police, was unable to avoid hitting the teen and struck him after he was struck by the Equinox.
"The bicyclist was transported by ambulance to Gwinnett Medical Center with life threatening injuries," Ritter said in a released statement. "He was later flown to Egleston Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:40 p.m."
The investigation continues, but charges are not anticipated, Ritter added.
