NGwinnett.com invited candidates to complete a questionnaire outlining their goals and reasons for seeking office. The responses by participating candidates are presented unedited and in their entirety.
NGwinnett: If elected, what do you hope to accomplish in the next term?
Swan: 1)Resolve Immigration - provide a 3-year pathway to citizenship with a fee, coupled with Tax Reform. 2)Tax Reform - Flat Tax of 15% for individuals and 20% for businesses. No taxes for capital gains, dividends or interest. 3) Social Security Reform - let individuals retain 1/3 of all social security savings. These accounts can be used for early retirement or applied to current mortgages or medical expenses. 4) Downsize Federal Government - Eliminate DOE, HUD, 40,000 IRS agents, and others.
5) Reform Federal Employee hiring practices - Create a merit based workforce throughout the federal government.
NGwinnett: If you could only tell voters one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Swan: I am the father of a 13-year-old Special Needs daughter. I can assure every voter there is nothing more important to me and my family than a world-class healthcare system. I would also share with voters that I am a Colonel in the United States Marine Corps reserves with several years experience writing U.S. Foreign Policy in the Middle East. There are no other candidates in this race (and very few in Congress) with the foreign policy experience I have. I used this experience to write a comprehensive plan to save our country. It is called The STAR Plan and can be found at: SwanForAmerica.com.
