The following Dacula, Buford and other northern Gwinnett County criminal incidents were recently investigated by the Gwinnett County Police Department:
VOMITING WOMAN LANDS IN JAIL: A Buford resident called police on June 27 after noticing a 21-year-old female "throwing up and stumbling near a car" in front of his residence. When the officer arrived, the female was being assisted by another woman who said the female had consumed too much alcohol. The officer tried speaking with the female, but was unable to understand her. Since the female continued to vomit, the officer requested paramedics respond to the scene. While waiting for paramedics to arrive, one of the officers at the scene attempted to give the female a bottle of water. The female reportedly responded with an expletive and "continued to cuss and flip the bird to us and the homeowner." The officer noted the female was "acting belligerent at times and you could only understand her when she was yelling." Paramedics determined the female was intoxicated, but otherwise in no physical distress. The officer placed the female under arrest for disorderly conduct and transported her to the jail.
WOMAN'S CAR REPORTEDLY STOLEN, WRECKED BY NEPHEW: A Buford woman said her 23-year-old nephew was "acting very strange and annoying her" during a June 27 trip to the Mall of Georgia. The woman said her nephew was annoying her so much that she gave him the keys to her 2002 Mercury Villager and told him to go wait for her there. The woman explained she specifically told him not to drive the van since she knew his license was suspended. By the time the woman got to where she had parked her vehicle, both it and her nephew were gone. The woman contacted police to report the van stolen and was subsequently informed her nephew had been arrested a short time earlier after crashing the vehicle near the intersection of Woodward Crossing Boulevard and Mall of Georgia Boulevard. The woman indicated she wanted to prosecute her nephew for the felony theft.
