The following Dacula, Buford and other northern Gwinnett County criminal incidents were recently investigated by the Gwinnett County Police Department:
INCRIMINATING TEXT MESSAGE: A Hoschton woman told police her son was visiting Harbins Park in Dacula on May 6 when his soon-to-be-ex wife entered his truck and took the Hoschton woman's phone. Police spoke with the son who said he was sure his estranged wife had the phone due to the fact she'd texted a picture of it to some friends. The phone has a listed value of $50.
BROKEN LOCK: A Buford man called police after noticing the lock of his Copper Creek Way home had been broken and a lockbox containing a key to the home had been taken. Nothing was missing from inside the home, which is currently under construction. The man said there have been other similar incidents at the site.
WALLET FALLS INTO WRONG HANDS: Shortly after leaving home on May 10, a Dacula woman realized she had left her wallet on the back of her vehicle before driving away from her Hill Circle residence. The woman returned to her house, but was unable to find the wallet. Her bank advised someone had attempted to make an $88 charge with her card at an Atlanta Highway gas station in Auburn within half an hour of the time she realized the wallet was missing. The woman was able to cancel all her cards and checks before the thief was able to obtain any money.
