A department store employee said he was attempting to make a citizen's arrest when an alleged shoplifter struck him with a vehicle during a July 1 incident at the Mall of Georgia.
Though Dillard's had surveillance footage of the shoplifting incident, they did not have any cameras covering the parking lot. Gwinnett police were able to review mall security footage from an outdoor camera, but could not see anything of evidentiary value due to the quality of the video and the distance from the incident.
The loss prevention officer provided police with the tag number of the suspect vehicle. The case is listed as active.
