The following Dacula, Buford and other northern Gwinnett County criminal incidents were recently investigated by the Gwinnett County Police Department:
WOMAN SAYS CAR STOLEN DURING MALL VISIT: A search of the Mall of Georgia parking lot failed to uncover a missing bright blue Toyota Corolla. An Auburn woman said she parked the vehicle outside of Haverty's at approximately 7 p.m. on June 7. When she returned to the parking lot at 10:50 p.m., her car was no longer there. The woman said both sets of keys to the vehicle were accounted for and no one had permission to take the vehicle. The case is listed as active.
HANDGUN, AMMO AND CUSTOM KNIFE TAKEN DURING CAR BREAK-IN: A Buford man contacted Gwinnett County Police on June 9 after discovering his 2011 Chevrolet Silverado had been broken into while parked outside his Whisper Cove Lane home. A $550 Glock handgun, three magazines of 9mm ammunition, a custom knife valued at $175, a $125 pocket knife and $20 in U.S. currency were reported as stolen. It is not known how the thief or thieves gained access to the interior of the vehicle. The report did not specify if the vehicle was locked at the time of the theft.
APARTMENT BURGLARIZED: A man said he locked his Buford Drive apartment when he left for the day on June 10 and it was still locked when he came home, but several items including $800 in cash, his television and a video game console were missing. The investigating officer found no damage to either the front or deck door of the apartment and was unable to determine how the burglar or burglars made entry. The case is listed as active.
