An Auburn man said the five minutes he spent inside a Braselton Highway fast food restaurant was all the time a thief needed to snatch his cellphone and a $100 bill out of his vehicle.
Gwinnett County Police were called to the Burger King, located at 3470 Braselton Highway around 4:30 p.m. on March 21 after the man returned to his vehicle with his food and discovered the theft.
The man informed police he left his car doors unlocked while he went inside to get a hamburger. The man said the $100 bill and his $600 LG cellphone were last seen in the center console of his unsecured vehicle.
The man told police he believes surveillance cameras at the Suntrust bank may have recorded the incident. A bank employee, however, indicated she did not believe much, if any, of the theft was captured on surveillance footage.
The case is listed as active.
