Last week, the Sbarro Italian restaurant chain announced 155 of its North America stores would be closed.
The move, designed to improve the company's financial performance, will not affect the eatery's Buford location.
In an email to NGwinnett.com, Sbarro guest relations representative Tyler Fielding-Griffin indicated the restaurant, located at 3333 Buford Drive in Buford, would be spared.
"The Mall of Georgia Sbarro is not closing," she wrote.
New York-based Sbarro was founded over 50 years ago and operates more than 400 locations in the United States and more than 1,000 worldwide. The Mall of Georgia location is the only Sbarro in Gwinnett County.
