The Gwinnett County Voter Registration and Elections Division is now hiring poll officials for the 2014 elections.
“We have a busy elections season ahead of us and with more than 150 polling locations in Gwinnett, it will take several thousand poll officials to staff an election,” said Elections Supervisor Lynn Ledford in a released statement.
Applicants must be United States citizens and residents of Gwinnett County. Additionally, poll officials must be at least 16 years of age and able to read, write and speak English.
"Successful poll officials demonstrate patience, enjoy working with people, take direction well and are detail oriented," a Gwinnett County press release stated.
Poll officials must have transportation to and from the polling location and have access to a computer to complete online training. Officials must report to their polls by 6 a.m. on Election Day and work the whole day, which is an approximately 14-hour shift. Pay ranges from $75-$300 daily depending upon position.
