A breakfast and lunch restaurant chain has filed a food service application to open in the Hamilton Mill area of Dacula. The application, filed in late February, is still being processed according to a health department representative.
Information on the application indicates the restaurant -- J. Christopher's -- will be located in the space formerly occupied by Bolgheri Tuscan Pizza, an upscale Italian restaurant which closed earlier this year. Bolgheri was owned and operated by Barry Lennon and Christopher Brogdon, one of the founders of J. Christopher's. A notice posted on the Bogheri website as of March 25 thanks Bolgheri guests for their business and adds, "We will be closed while our owners re-concept and we look forward to opening again in early spring 2014."
Attempts to reach a representative with J. Christopher's by phone, email and the contact form on the company website were unsuccessful. A message sent to the J. Christopher's Facebook page asking for information about the Hamilton Mill location and a potential opening date did, however, generate a reply.
"We are still looking at opening up a restaurant in the Hamilton Mill area but aren't sure which brand it will be just yet," the message states. "As soon as we know something more concrete, we'll definitely be in touch. Thank you for reaching out!"
As of article publication time, no one with the company had replied to a message seeking further information.
J. Christopher's operates restaurants in Georgia and Tennessee. The menu features traditional breakfast fare as well as a variety of soups and sandwiches for lunch.
The restaurant space listed on the food service application is 3517 Braselton Highway, Suite A100, Dacula in the Shops at Hamilton Mill. If it opens, J. Christopher's will be the fourth restaurant to occupy Suite A100. In addition to Bolgheri, the space has previously been occupied by Ippolito's and Mellow Mushroom.
