On April 16, the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners (BOC) approved allocations for 2014 special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST) funds, including $275 million for transportation projects. Several northern Gwinnett County road projects are among those in the top tier of recommendations made by the Citizens Project Selection Committee (CPSC), a committee tasked to review and prioritize prospective projects for SPLOST funding.
Recommended city/county projects include:
The 2014 SPLOST referendum was held in November 2013. Collections for the three-year, 1 percent sales tax began on April 1, 2014. The SPLOST is expected to generate close to $500 million in revenue over its lifespan. For more information, see the 2014 Gwinnett SPLOST fact sheet or visit the Gwinnett County SPLOST page.

The Gravel Springs interchange at I-85 would be the best way to spend money in NE Gwinnett. This would relieve the congestion at the Hamilton Mill exit where too many accidents occur. It would also relieve some Mall of Georgia traffic on SR-20.

Agreed. That and widening 324 all the way to Dacula RD would be by far the best thing to happen to N. Gwinnett

Agreed. An interchange there would bring some much-needed relief at exits 115 and 120 and help get some commuter traffic off Hamilton Mill Parkway and Jim Moore Road at Auburn Road. Of course an interchange there would mean 324 between 124 and Dacula Road would really need to be widened to handle the traffic. Comments are closed.
