Last week, the Sbarro Italian restaurant chain announced 155 of its North America stores would be closed.
The move, designed to improve the company's financial performance, will not affect the eatery's Buford location.
In an email to NGwinnett.com, Sbarro guest relations representative Tyler Fielding-Griffin indicated the restaurant, located at 3333 Buford Drive in Buford, would be spared.
Later this year, Mall of Georgia visitors will have yet another dining option.
Marlow's Tavern, a restaurant featuring classic tavern fare, is scheduled to open in May of 2014. Marlow's Tavern will join P.F. Chang's, Tin Lizzy's Cantina and The Cheesecake Factory in the Mall of Georgia Village area.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Marlow’s Tavern to our restaurant mix,” said Carol Cox, director of marketing and business development at Mall of Georgia, in a released statement. “Our goal is to continually provide the best combination of retail and dining options for our shoppers, and this popular tavern furthers that commitment with high quality menu items, exceptional service and a unique, neighborhood atmosphere.”
Marlow's Tavern opened its first location in Alpharetta in 2004. The restaurant now has several locations, including two in Orlando, Fla.
