Artist Ingrid Bolton visited the Hamilton Mill branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library on Saturday, March 15, to show how Ukranian Easter eggs (Pysanka) are made.
Bolton, who moved to the Atlanta area 25 years ago, said she first learned about Pysanka in Germany. After the move, she decided to learn how to make the elaborately decorated eggs.
"I was determined to find out what it was," she said. "That was before the Internet, before you could search for yourself."
Stop by the Dacula Library to view an art exhibit featuring the work of students fromt Cobble Creek Studios. The exhibit, which includes more than 40 framed pieces created by artists ages 5-18, will be on display until April 1.
Cobble Creek Studios is located in Snellville and offers classes for children and adults. Students also take field trips and participate in special projects such as a 2013 Habitat for Humanity project. During last year's summer workshop, students created 4" x 5" canvases of all U.S. presidents and vice presidents which were framed and displayed on Vice President Joe Biden's Christmas tree.

As library patrons stood outside waiting for the Dacula Library to open on Saturday, March 8, they were joined by four special visitors: Bella, Hope, Libby and Ruby. The foursome, part of Dacula-based Therapy Dogs International (TDI) Chapter #193, were there to help with a very important mission -- encouraging children to read.
The youngest patrons of the Dacula Library had the opportunity to meet and have photos taken with a literary celebrity on Monday, March 3 -- Dr Seuss' "Cat in the Hat."
The "Cat in the Hat" was the featured guest at an event celebrating Read Across America. In addition to meeting the beloved book character, toddlers enjoyed a story, games and music.
