Summer will be here before you know it and Lake Lanier Islands in Buford is gearing up with several job fairs planned over the next few months.

Dacula residents have just a few more weeks to wait before the newest area restaurant opens its door.
Firehouse Subs, located at 3465 Braselton Highway, Suite 150 in Dacula, is expected to open in approximately three weeks according to district manager Mark Hill.
The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) and the Aviation Institute of Maintenance will co-sponsor a job expo in Gwinnett County on Wednesday, April 9, for veterans, their family members, active duty personnel, military retirees, National Guard, U.S. reserve units and others.
Representatives of the GDOL's Veterans Unit and other organizations will be on hand to provide assistance with employment-related and other issues that concern veterans.
Lake Lanier Islands Resort is now hiring. The Buford resort has openings for seasonal positions in all departments including food and beverage, front desk, housekeeping, security, front gate, harbor, clean-up and more.
The resort will hold a job fair this Saturday, March 29, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Peachtree Pointe at Lake Lanier Islands Resort, located at 7000 Lanier Islands Parkway in Buford.

The Gwinnett County Voter Registration and Elections Division is now hiring poll officials for the 2014 elections.
“We have a busy elections season ahead of us and with more than 150 polling locations in Gwinnett, it will take several thousand poll officials to staff an election,” said Elections Supervisor Lynn Ledford in a released statement.
Applicants must be United States citizens and residents of Gwinnett County. Additionally, poll officials must be at least 16 years of age and able to read, write and speak English.
