The free festival, which runs from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., will feature food trucks, dog contests, live dog show events, a car show and other family-friendly activities.
The festival will also feature pets available for adoption. During the challenge, June 1 through Aug. 31, the animal shelter will offer discounted adoptions -- dog adoptions for $30, cat adoptions for $20 or two cats for $30. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, the first round of vaccinations and a microchip.

Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement is a competitor in this year's ASPCA Rachel Ray $100K Challenge. During the event, 50 shelters across the country will compete to break their own records saving the lives of animals. The shelter will host a kick-off festival on Sunday, June 1, to mark the start of the competition.
